Ministro Plenipotenziario al MAECI, attualmente Coordinatore per l’Asia Centrale.
Dal 2019 al 2023 è stato Ambasciatore a Seul. Nel 2017 è stato Coordinatore per le questioni energetiche e nel 2015 Coordinatore ASEM. Dal 2011 al 2015 è stato Ambasciatore a Jakarta, accreditato anche a Timor Est e l’ASEAN. Dal 2009 al 2011 ha coordinato i progetti di internazionalizzazione delle università e dal 2007 al 2009 il Comitato Governativo Italia-Cina. Dal 2005 al 2007 ha diretto l’Ufficio Asia Orientale.

Dal 2002 al 2005 è stato Primo Consigliere presso la Rappresentanza Permanente presso l’UE. Dal 1998 al 2002 è stato Console Generale a Guangzhou. Tra il 1997 e il 1998 è stato all’Ufficio Relazioni Esterne dell’UE. Dal 1995 al 1997 è stato Vice Capo Ufficio Nord Africa e Medio Oriente. Dal 1992 al 1995 è stato Consigliere Economico all’Ambasciata a New Delhi. Dal 1988 al 1992 Console a Hong Kong. Dal 1985 al 1988 Vice Capo Ufficio per la Cooperazione Giudiziaria e la Protezione Consolare

From 2019 to 2023 Ambassador to Seoul. In 2017 he served as Coordinator for energy issues and in 2015 as ASEM Coordinator. From 2011 to 2015 Ambassador to Jakarta, also accredited to Timor Leste and ASEAN. From 2009 to 2011 he coordinated university internationalization projects, and from 2007 to 2009 the Italy–China Governmental Committee. From 2005 to 2007 he headed the East Asia Office.

From 2002 to 2005 he was First Counsellor at the Permanent Representation to the EU. From 1998 to 2002 Consul General in Guangzhou. Between 1997 and 1998 he worked at the EU External Relations Office. From 1995 to 1997 he was Deputy Head of the North Africa and Middle East Office. From 1992 to 1995 he was Economic Counsellor at the Embassy in New Delhi. From 1988 to 1992 he served as Consul in Hong Kong. From 1985 to 1988 he was Deputy Head of the Office for Judicial Cooperation and Consular Protection.
