Presidente dell’Istituto per la Competitività (I-Com), think tank che ha fondato nel 2005, con sedi a Roma e Bruxelles, leader in Italia e in Europa sui temi del digitale e dell’innovazione. È docente di Economia politica nell’Università Roma Tre. È membro del comitato scientifico di diverse istituzioni e iniziative. È stato membro del gruppo di esperti sull’intelligenza artificiale (IA) costituito dal Ministero dello Sviluppo Economico con lo scopo di scrivere la Strategia italiana sull’IA ed è membro della European AI Alliance. È autore e curatore di numerose pubblicazioni sui temi economici e dell’innovazione, tra le quali il saggio Intelligenza artificiale: ultima chiamata. Il sistema Italia alla prova del futuro (Bocconi editore, 2019). Il suo ultimo libro, L’economia di ChatGPT (Egea, 2023), che analizza gli scenari di impatto dell’IA generativa sulla società, è in libreria dal 27 ottobre.

He is a professor of Economics at Roma Tre University. He is a member of the scientific committee of various institutions and initiatives. He was a member of the group of experts on artificial intelligence (AI) set up by the Ministry of Economic Development with the aim of writing the Italian Strategy on AI and is a member of the European AI Alliance. He is the author and editor of numerous publications on economic and innovation topics, including the essay (in Italian) Artificial Intelligence: Last Call. The Italian System Tested by the Future (Bocconi publisher, 2019). His latest book (also in Italian), The Economy of ChatGPT (Egea, 2023), which analyzes the impact scenarios of generative AI on the economy and society, was released on October 27.
